First known record of a Striped Saddlebags,
Tramea calverti,
Species: Striped Saddlebags, Tramea calverti Bill & John were photographing dragonflies & butterflies along with several photographer friends from OKC when they saw what they initially thought was a freshly emerged black or red saddlebags. They soon realized that this was something different than either of them had seen before but didn't know what until they both got back home and looked it up. What they saw & photographed was the first known record of a Striped Saddlebags, Tramea calverti, in Oklahoma. This species is widespread in Texas and has been known to wander as far north as New York & Massachusetts. http://odonatacentral.bfl.utexas.edu/fieldguide/species.asp?TaxaID=306
